Basic travel information
On the way, we get to know the stunning Nepal of South Asia, the country’s different cultures, history, nature and varied landscapes.
Our journey begins in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, offering cultural experiences for all the senses. We travel to the tropical southern lowlands of Nepal, to explore Chitwan National Park, known for its rhinos and tigers, from where we continue to the lush city of Pokhara, one of Nepal’s most famous travel destinations. Its location at the foot of the Annapurna massif attracts hikers from all over the world. The sunrise over the Himalayan peaks of over 8,000 meters is a unique experience! We return from Pokhara across the lower slopes of the Himalayas to the peaceful small town of Bandipur, where we enjoy the unique scenery of the region before returning to Kathmandu.

Itinerary
DAY 1 – KATHMANDU
Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
NOTE: Hotel accommodation according to international practice from 14:00. If your flight arrives in the morning, when booking your trip, select the day before arrival as the arrival date.

DAY 2 – KATHMANDU – CHITWAN
After breakfast, we leave the bustling Kathmandu behind us and drive about 5.5 hours from the hustle and bustle of the big city through the so-called lower slopes of the Himalayas. the central hills towards the low, tropical Terai lowlands of southern Nepal and the world-famous Chitwan National Park. We stay in comfortable home accommodation near the national park. The home has western toilets, no air conditioning. (OH)

DAY 3 – CHITWAN NATIONAL PARK
Full day program in the Chitwan National Park area: we get to know the animals as well as the life of the local Tharu tribe. Chitwan National Park and the surrounding areas are home to more than 500 rhinos and e.g. tigers and crocodiles. (UNDER)

DAY 4 – CHITWAN – POKHARA
After breakfast, we continue our journey north towards Nephara, Nepal’s third largest city. About a 5h drive will take us to this tropical valley, next to the snow-capped Himalayan mountains, which is also known for its picturesque lakes. Originally an important milestone in the trade route between Tibet and India, Pokhara is now a center for active tourism, with various lengths of hikes in the Himalayan mountains. (A)

DAY 5 – POKHARA
An early awakening and a short drive to Sarangkot Hill, where we witness a scenic sunrise as the peaks of the Himalayas spread out like a panorama in front of us. We will return to the hotel for breakfast. During the day we take a city tour as well as a boat trip on Fewa Tal Lake, from where we can admire the sunset over the mountains. (A)

DAY 6 – BANDIPUR
Today, a three-hour drive takes us east from Pokhara, to the peaceful small town of Bandipur, located at an altitude of 1,030 meters on the lower slopes of the Himalayas. Built in a traditional style, Bandipur offers stunning views of the high snow peaks of Annapurna, Dhaulagir, Manaslu and Langtang. In the afternoon we will take a walking tour of Bandipur’s old town. After breakfast free time before about 4 hours drive back to Kathmandu. The rest of the day is free time in Kathmandu for shopping, for example. (A)

Kathmandu
The vibrant and colorful capital of Nepal, Kathmandu is a metropolis of one million inhabitants full of interesting historical and cultural sites. The vibrant and chaotic city is located in the Kathmandu Valley, about 1,300 meters above sea level. The city offers plenty to see and experience for the culture-hungry. There are six UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the Kathmandu Valley alone. Kathmandu can be playfully called an open-air museum. The city is full of more magnificent temples, traditional architecture and bustling bazaars. The tourist-friendly Thamel area has numerous good restaurants as well as hiking and climbing equipment shops.
Pokhara
The city of Pokhara is located at the foot of the Himalayan mountains in central Nepal, about 200 km west of Kathmandu and about 900 meters above sea level. The city has about 250,000 inhabitants. Pokhara is known for its beautiful Fewa Tal Lake, snow-capped mountain peaks and lush nature. The city has a leisurely atmosphere and a tropical warm climate. Pokhara serves as a starting and ending point for popular hikes in the Annapurna area.
