Finesse Revisited

Finesse Revisited

We highlighted for you the main assemblies of the style and finesse fishing, so that you ensure the actions of black basses in the days when they are more sly,

Finesse Revisited

It is not the first nor will be the last time you speak it. With the fame that it reached in our waters, the black bass is the newcomer increasingly tarimbada in the media linked to sport fishing in our Country. For the last few years, we have witnessed enormous progress in the techniques to your fishing, a fact driven by the increase in the exchange of information, the number of competitions and even the growing fishing pressure in reservoirs and lakes where the bass is found. Our fellow north americans and japanese are the major responsible for this globalisation of information. With an avalanche of complicated names, it would be normal to scare the fisherman who is not accustomed with the universe of the black bass. And as there are no restrictions for these “cuss words”, we will try to help you, by sorting the top mounts (rigs) for finesse fishing, special to the days of morning of the fish typical of the winter. It is worth remembering that there are numerous variations; you can try, to improve, and even create assemblies new from these that I consider to be basic for this style of fishing for bass.

  1. Down-shot

It is considered one of the top mounts from the finesse fishing. Initially used by the fishermen of São Paulo, today it is widespread throughout the Country. Their productivity is undeniable, even at other times of the year.

> Equipment recommended:

Sticks 58 to 66, class 8 to 14 pounds, medium action
Reels/spinning reels The preference is personal, but reels small or medium-sized to be more suitable, in size 1 500 to 2 500, for weights less than 4 grams
Lines Fluorocarbon, 4 to 10 pounds (higher sensitivity)
Baits Plastic, 3 to 4 inches
Weights 3 to 6 grams, depending on the fishing conditions. Can be drop-shaped, conical, etc
Hooks The type, offset, circle hook, chinu, size 2 to 1/0

> Mounting: the hook is tied above the weight, perpendicular to the main line and with the tip facing up. Similar to a pernada fishing from the beach, the weight is tied at the end of the main line. The distance – weight the hook varies between 20 and 40 centimeters.

> Work: let the bait get to the bottom, always on the lookout for possible attacks on the fallen. With the line gently taut, give small touches of the tip of the rod giving the movement to the bait, dragging slowly the lead on the bottom. With the fish sly, try to work the bait in the same place for more time.

> Tip: small baits plastic (from 3 to 4 inches) that produces erratic movements, as the worms without a tail (“cut tails”) are very efficient, and should not be missing in the box.

  1. Split-shot

Considered a lighter version of the Carolina Rig, is excellent for locations with flat bottom or with a declivity smooth.

> Equipment recommended:

Sticks 58 to 66, class 6 to 14 pounds, medium action
Reels/spinning reels Preferably, reels small-to-medium, size 1 500 and 2 500.
Lines Fluorocarbon, 4 to 10 pounds (higher sensitivity)
Baits Plastic, 3 to 5 inches
Weights Of 1.8 to 4 grams, usually spherical
Hooks Wide Gap, Offset EWG etc, in sizes 2 to 1/0

> Mounting: the weight is fixed at a distance of between 30 centimeters and one meter of the hook, this laced at the end of the main line.

> Work: let the bait get to the bottom, always on the lookout for possible attacks on the fallen. You can drag the bait slowly with the tip of the rod low, or print long touches the tip of the rod up, waiting for the bait to reach the bottom again. Search for switch movements.

> Tip: if the fish is very sly, try to increase the distance between the weight and the hook.
